THE TEAM BEHIND CAKEJESS.COM

Jessica MV initially had a busy  job at Hanoi University of Industry as a foreign language lecturer. After ten years dedicating to the family-tradition-career that her parents wanted her to pursue, she decided to quit in 2010 to have more time for her two small kids who suffered from serious asthma during their childhood and support her husband in his business in human resource industry. When she settled down in the new business, she found herself in the passion of baking, cake decorating and food photography as a hobbyist.

Jessica started by registering with Craftsy learning the basic techniques online from Nicholas Lodge, Sharon Wee, Zoe Clark,  Maggie Austin and Jessica Harris. Anyone knowing her from her first days of being a cake decorator may have recognized some of her first cakes were inspired by those artists she learned from; but not long after the period of being a newbie, she seriously felt an overwhelming urge to develop her own unique style and techniques in decorating wedding cakes and making sugar flowers, her favourite trends in the industry. And for today, she has become the person she loves to be: being recognized for her sought-after designs with innovative techniques which are uniquely of her own.

Under the name of Floral Cakes by Jessica MV, her former brand, Jessica MV won the Best Wedding Cake Award of the prestigous Cake Masters Magazine Awards in 2017. She also has been featured for numerous times in reputed cake and sugarcraft magazines like Cake Masters, Cake Central, American Cake Decorating etc…including twice being the cover star of Cake Central Magazine.

Jessica has been invited to cake fairs, sugarcraft schools and studios all around the globe to share her skills in cake decorating and making flowers using sugar and the new edible mediums which she is proud to create on her own: rice paste and bean paste. Now she is researching another fascinating floral medium: silk paste. Jessica is simply in search of the self in her passion for edible art and she loves the beautiful feeling of inspiring people with her new cake and flower designs.

CakeJess is a corner of cake art with everything cake-related, from online tutorials to workshops, her own “cat walk” platform for showcasing her collections as well as stories about few small lovely things in a cake artist’s life such as the collectible items and source of inspirations with hope to motivate people with the love for cakes!
