Hi Sheila,
It absolutely is, as long as you make the flowers using all other food safe materials.here we have tons of traditional dried noodles made out of rice flour that taste like crispy snacks.rice paste when drying out is somewhat like that!

Hi Abby,
I bought it from Sugar Art Studio by Giovanna Smit. If you want to know about all other tools, the material worksheet explains about everything I used in the course.

Thank you so much for the reply! I will check it out. 😉 i’ve been very successful using your rice paste recipe and flower tutorials. i absolutely love it!
Hi,
The ball tool is Giovanna Smith’s ( Sugar Art Studio). Did you see the material worksheet of the course? You might have missed it. If you didn’t know where to get it, let me know.

Hi,
I don’t think we should. Potato starch stabilize the paste better than other starches. The texture of the paste will not change much if you use cassava starch instead but it will shrink more when the petals get dry.

Hi Sri,
Use less water, may you try 5gr water less!if it’s still too soft, make 10gr water less. Another tip is putting it in tge fridge covered in several layers of cling film overnight.
Home made recipes strongly rely on the materials we use and the weather conditions too.Make sure the flour & starch you use are pure!

Hi Sri,
We can keep rice paste flowers for months, but similarly to sugar flowers, the place where we kêp the flowers must always be dry and permanently dry. Any change in humidity may cause mold though rice paste stands humidity very well.Busy flowers like Austin roses must be completely dry before being packaged or stored in boxes.
Best,
Jessica
hello jess, I had the training to make flowers from rice paste to make the flower soft, but I see your flowers are also fragile and hard?
Do you have a suggestion that the leaves are not soft and brittle when handled?
Hi there,
It depends on the weather. If it’s humid, rice paste flowers will not collapse like sugar & will stay a bit flexible. If it’s too dry, flowers will become dry hard like sugar flowers though they are stronger.

Jessica

Hi! Is it safe when a totally dried flower accidentally eaten by children, usually happens after the flower is placed on the cake? Thank you.
